Hula Classes in New York City

All classes are at Ripley Grier, 520 8th Ave. (between 36th and 37th Ave.

Auana or Modern Hula Class: 12 noon to 3 pm
Kahiko or Ancient Hula Class: 3:30 to 6:30 pm

cost: $60 per workshop or $100 for both

Hula Kahiko Class includes:

• Traditional dances learning basic foot work and hand gestures
• Research on the different aspects of the dance: mythology, ali'i/royalty; plants, place names.
• Chanting
• Learning usage of implements.
