Retreat, at Genesis Farms in New Jersey
September 13-14, 2008
Held on a beautiful organic farm, the retreat
begins at 8 am on Saturday, Sept. 13th. The retreat includes
hula dancing, chanting, meditation, body work and some time
just hanging out or working on the farm. The retreat will
finish at 3 pm on Sunday. Food will be nourishing vegetarian.
People should bring:
- rafia for lei making (John-Mario will get ti-leaf for backing
- food and snacks
- water, tea, coffee
- hula kahiko outfits with kukui lei and kupe'e
- bedding if staying at farm or camping equipment
- insect repellant
- pareos or mats or tarps to sit on

Samu Sesshin
October 17-19, 2008
This sesshin includes more samu work practice
during the day. It still includes meditation practice in
the early morning and evening, as well as meditation periods
before lunch and dinner. There is no chanting or services
during this retreat. Samu will be done during the mornings
and afternoons.
The retreat begins at 9:00 am on Saturday morning
and ends Sunday at 5:00 pm.

Day Rohatsu Sesshin (Retreat), December 5-13, 2008
Held in deep silence, this sesshin includes intensive
meditation practice, services, samu work practice, dharma talks
by Joshin Sesshin and private daisan interviews with him each
day. It also includes body work and the practice of immedicacy.
The retreat begins at 7:00 pm on Friday evening
and ends Saturday at noon.
