path of practice have sought the guidance of qualified spiritual
teachers. The need for skilled teachers in today's world is greater
than ever. Practicing and Affiliate membership are for those
wishing to enter into a formal teacher-student relationship with
Joshin Sensei.
How to Become a Practicing or Affiliate
Member
Attend Zen Practice 1 and Zen Practice 2 classes
Visit Joshin Sensei in private interview (daisan)
Practicing Membership Requirements
Attend at least one full sesshin a year.
Attend regular weekly zazen.
Learn liturgy and service positions.
Help to maintain and support the Zen Community.
Affiliate Membership Requirements
Attend at least one full sesshin a year.
Learn liturgy and service positions.
Stay in contact with teacher by phone daisans once
or twice a month
Practicing Membership Fee
The Practicing Membership fee is $600 annually,
which can be paid in installments of $50 a month.
Affiliate Membership Fee
The Affiliate Membership fee is $300 annually,
which can be paid in installments of $25 a month.
