The Zen Community celebrated it's one year anniversary of being in Oak Park on May 22, 2005. After sitting meditation, we did the Gate of Sweet Nectar service together. We then celebrated by have a large communal lunch together. Members of the Zen Community, Kaililani's hula students, neighbors and friends came to celebrate our first birthday.

Ryushin and Joshin bought the house at 163 N. Humphrey in February 2004 and started the Zen Community in May of 2004.
