Every 2nd Friday of Month (starting at 7:00 pm)

The Zen Community celebrates the Gypsy Jazz tradition once a month by hosting a jazz jam session. All muscians and instruments are welcome. Everyone is welcome to join in - bring along some food and something to drink and enjoy yourself.

Some of the standards in this genre to practice are:

Bossa Dorado, Daphne, Dark Eyes, Djangology, Django's Castle, Douce Ambiance, Minor Blues, Minor Swing, Swing Gitan, Swing 39, Swing 42, Swing 85.

And there are still many others such as:

After Your Gone, All of Me, Avalon, I Can't Give you Anything, It Don't Mean a Thing, Lady be Good, Limehouse Blues, Lulu Swing, Ma Premiere Guitare, Nuages, Out of Nowhere, Rose Room, Sweet Georgia Brown, Sweet Sue, Swing Gitan, Django's Castle, Djangology, Minor Blues

We will use Fakebooks and Jazz Sheets - you can find many of these chord sheets free and many mp3 sound files at some of the following web sites: Nuages de Swing, Manoucheries, Stephane Wrembel, and ofcourse, don't forget Michael Horowitz's excellent resource, DjangoBooks.
