The Zen Community of Oak Park is located
in Oak Park, just outside downtown Chicago. Located at 163
N. Humphrey Ave., the center is one block west of Austin and
1/2 block north of Lake St.
PARKING AT THE ZEN COMMUNITY
We recommend you consider
parking on Lake Street near the corner of Lake and Humphrey which
is 1/2 block from the Zen Community. You may also park on the West
side of the Humphrey between 10 am and 9 pm if you have a daily
parking pass, which you can obtain from the Zen Community. If you
park on the East side of Humphrey, even with a parking pass, you
may be ticketed because this is a restricted parking area.
No parking is allowed on the streets of Oak Park
between 2:30 am and 6:00 am. Normally, you can park for a short
time in the hospital parking lot, but they are now doing major
construction there so for the next few years, this option may
prove difficult.
BY TRAIN FROM DOWNTOWN
Take the green line train from
downtown Chicago and get off at the Austin Station. Walk 1/2
block north to Lake St. Turn left and walk one block to Humphrey
Ave. Turn right and walk 1/2 block north on Humphrey Ave. The
Zen Community is located on the left side of the street.
DRIVING FROM DOWNTOWN CHICAGO
Take the Eisenhower Expressway west from downtown Chicago
and exit going north on Austin Blvd. Turn left on Lake Street.
Drive one block and turn right on N. Humphrey Ave. Center is 1/2
block up on the left side of street.
DRIVING FROM OHARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Take the 190 east towards downtown Chicago. Drive a
short distance on 190 and take the River Road exit going south.
River Road will become 1st Ave. Keep driving south on 1st Ave.
Turn left on Chicago Ave. Drive until you reach Austin Ave. Turn
right on Austin Ave.(driving south) until you come to Lake Street.
Turn right (west) on Lake Street. Drive one block and turn right
on Humphrey Ave. Center is 1/2 block up Humphrey Ave. on the
left hand side of street.
DRIVING FROM CHICAGO MIDWAY AIRPORT
From the airport take Cicero Ave. north
for about 6 miles until you reach Lake Street. Turn left
(west) on Lake Street, drive about 1.5 miles. One block past
Austin Ave turn right on Humphrey Ave.
