INNER DISARMAMENT
and the art of Pro-active Integral Communication

Robert Althouse began these trainings shortly after 9/11 to help people learn how to deal more effectively with conflict. This training integrates Nonviolent Communication as taught by Marshall Rosenberg and universal, integral truths. Specific language skills are presented, along with many hands-on, experiential exercises to help integrate the course material.

Transform Conflicts Without Fear!

You will learn specific language patterns for building and nurturing trust in relationships and groups. The class material is accompanied by many hands-on, practical role-plays that are surprisingly transformative. The integration of integral, universal truths with practical communication skills will give you more confidence in working with conflicts and difficult people.

  • Learn pro-active communication skills
  • Transform conflicts without fear
  • Let go of destructive judgments
  • Learn the power of empathic listening

There are presently no workshops scheduled for 2008. Robert is available to give these workshops for churches, non-profit organizations and businesses.

To learn more about how you can schedule an Inner Disarmament workshop, please contact the Zen Community office at 708.445.1651 or email Robert at info@zencommunity.org.

What Others are Saying About Inner Disarmament:

"This course opened my eyes, yet again, to the power of skillful language and listening in understanding and being understood. It is not about expressing ourselves and 'word technique' – it's about listening for unmet needs in others – often difficult when emotions cloud communication.

Anyone seeking better, clearer, more empathic and more authentic communication should check this out. The list of feelings and needs is surprisingly useful and I keep it close for those moments when I'm having trouble connecting. With practice, this techique is powerful.

Robert Joshin Althouse brings life experience, humor, honesty and a gentle directness to teaching this 'language of compassion.'"
